Online “Closed” Workshop: Intro to Mindfulness Meditation for Adults

March 30 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, repeating until April 20, 2024

Mindfulness meditation is the practice of being aware of the present moment. Over this 6 week online course, we will explore what happens when we slow down and direct our attention in particular ways. We can be mindful of our breathing, senses, emotions, thoughts, daily life activities, and more. How does increasing our awareness affect the body, mind, and heart? Each one-hour session will include a guided meditation, teaching on a mindfulness topic, and opportunities to reflect on our experiences through journaling and discussion. All you need is a quiet place to sit, paper and writing utensil, and an open mind!

Beginners are welcome; no prior experience with meditation is necessary. We will touch on themes from Eastern philosophy, psychology, and other mindfulness traditions. Students will be encouraged to continue their meditation practice on their own between sessions. Hope you will join us!
