Online “Open” Community Connection Session for Adults

This community connections discussion session is for Autistic adults. Participate in this free online discussion to connect with other Neurodivergent adults. Online sessions are hosted on the Zoom platform and are facilitated by AANE’s Adult Services staff who have years of experience with autism and who understand the challenges that this pandemic can pose.

Online “Closed” Support Group for Women (18-35)

This “closed” support group is designed for Autistic women (18-35). Through this “closed” support group, women (18-35) can build an ongoing connection with a small group of other women. AANE “closed” support groups for women also give women an opportunity to voice their concerns and frustrations. It also lets them acknowledge hard-won and unexpected victories. Common topics of discussion are:

Masking/camouflaging
Sensory sensitivities/overloads
Relationships
Self-care
Empathy

Jam Band

Georgia College Music Theapy Clinic Health Science Building, First Floor, Room 116; 200 N. Wilkinson Street, Milledgeville

JamBand is an all-abilities band for teens ages 12-18. This band exists to provide accessible opportunities for teenagers of various abilities and learning styles to have successful music experiences. The group will meet once a week for 50 minutes for 10 weeks. Participants will receive one-on-one instruction on the instrument of their choice, as well as learn to play in a band. Instruments provided on-campus, but having personal instruments at home to practice is recommended.

Participants will:

Learn basic instrument skills
Engage in positive music making experiences together
Work towards a community performance displaying their hard work and acquired skills.

LIFE Living Independence for Everyone (Savannah) 4811 Waters Avenue, Savannah

Neurodiversity Is Beautiful Social Peer Group meets every Tuesday evening in person at LIFE, located at 4811 Waters Avenue in Savannah. This is not an open/drop-in group, you must register to participate.

Empowering neurodiverse adults and young adults to develop a local support network of peer support.

The group is structured to encourage everyone to share and participate in the discussion, with respect for all members prioritized.
