The JAN Webcast Series is a virtual training series presented by JAN consulting staff and guest speakers. This training goes beyond the basics, offering actionable solutions for workplace accommodation challenges, practical guidance on complying with Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and trusted strategies for engaging in the interactive process.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) works to ensure that Americans with disabilities have opportunities to build careers, contribute their talent, and achieve economic mobility. A central part of this mission is providing employers and others with practical, high-quality services and resources that translate policy into practice and help organize supports that lead to success for disabled American workers and employers. This virtual outreach event will highlight the services and resources provided by the Job Accommodation Network and the Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability to empower workers with disabilities and help employers and policymakers set high expectations, retain talent, and put productivity enhancing accommodation practices into action in today’s evolving workplace.
Apprenticeships unlock career pathways. They combine paid work experience with classroom instruction, preparing workers for high-demand jobs in high growth, high demand industries, including manufacturing, technology, and infrastructure. These are sectors central to national competitiveness and economic stability. To grow and to thrive in today’s economy, employers in all industries need a highly skilled workforce. Supporting Americans with disabilities as apprentices helps industries and the nation stay competitive globally. The Office of Disability Employment Policy’s Job Accommodation Network, known as JAN, and Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability, known as EARN, are your partners in supporting apprentice success. EARN will share strategies on how to leverage youth and workers with disabilities as apprentices to meet workforce needs and boost productivity. JAN will share how accommodations support the journey of an apprentice from a learner to skilled professional. Reasonable accommodations ensure apprenticeships are available for all Americans, including those with disabilities. Webcasts are tailored to human resource professionals, federal agencies, small employers, and organizations seeking to strengthen their accommodation programs. This technical assistance helps employers understand their responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act and implement effective accommodations that meet workplace needs and foster employee success.

The caption link will be included in the login email and shared in the chat window at the start of each webcast.
Registrants will receive training materials for each session, which will be sent via email prior to the scheduled event. These materials will be in an accessible format and may include Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe PDF files.
