Other Health Impairment: An Overview

May 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Free

Description:

Other Health Impairment is meant as another option when a learner has disability relate needs that may be caused by or as a result of a medical condition. However, just because a learner has a medical diagnosis, it does not always mean they are eligible for specially designed instruction or Special Education. Join us for information about OHI, some of the more common or uncommon conditions and the resources available when it comes to supporting a learner with disability related needs and OHI

Learning objectives:

  1. Parents/Family members will have some ideas regarding what kind of information and input they can bring to the Evaluation IEP meeting.
  2. Participants will have an improved awareness of various DPI and external resources related to Other Health Impairment.
  3. Participants will better understand what to do with medical evaluation information when provided by the family or a medical evaluator.
