Spectrum hosts monthly parent meetings the first and second Thursday of each month featuring guest speakers who share their knowledge and expertise regarding a variety of topics related to the Autism Spectrum Disorder. First Thursday of the month meetings are offered Sept-May for parents of school age children. Breakout sessions are also offered for Dads, parents of preschoolers, and in Spanish only.
Social Skills programs are offered at the same time for children ages 5-22. Childcare is offered for those under 5. Second Thursday of the month meetings are for parents of adults out of high school and for adults on the spectrum.

FOCUS on Moms is a day of fun activities and workshops all while hanging out with other awesome FOCUS Moms! There will be no workshops on IEPS or Medicaid meetings…only fun, self-help workshops available and time to connect with others!
Eligibility:
Be a FOCUS Mom of a child with a disability

Spectrum Camps and Clubs is offering a Saturday Day Camp and School Break Camps for Thanksgiving and Spring Break weeks camps which will provide a fun filled day for your child/children while maintaining a safe environment by following our strict Covid-19 infection control policies.
The activities include social activities, arts & crafts, music, outdoor play and group activities. Saturday Day Camp is for children 5 to young adult.
This Is an excellent time for parents to have some respite time for themselves.
Siblings are invited at the same fee.
Cost per 2 Saturday Sessions: $180 - Must sign up for both sessions per month

FOCUS Teens and Young Adults will be meeting to participate in an (1 hour) adapted yoga class led by an instructor from Grounded Kids Yoga followed by Karaoke and snack. The instructor is certified in adapted techniques, and has a relationship with our FOCUS population. Please register to attend this event!
Eligibility
Have a physical and/or developmental disabilities, including Rare Genetic Syndromes, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Down Syndrome.
FOCUS Kid must be between ages 13 and 29
Willing to stay safe with a group and function in a 1:8 caregiver to participant ratio.
Stay with the group in a public place, with gentle reminders
Not need medical care that requires a nurse
Not need help toileting during a 2-hour period

A large majority of TYA events are free, if any events require payment they are often at a discounted rate.
Caregivers welcome, but parents can come if absolutely necessary!
If your teen/young adult requires more interaction to engage, you may attend or send a personal caregiver to assist. We’ve learned that ‘hanging out’ is sometimes difficult for our teens / young adults and we might need your help!

Spectrum Saturday Social Club will provide a safe space for adults who are on the autism spectrum. Participants who are out of high school and are 18 years or older, have independent self help skills, and are able to function with little supervision. The group will meet on Saturdays from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm where they will play games, enjoy karaoke, or watch movies with friends. The club will be supervised by professional staff that will facilitate the members to help make new friends and strengthen social skills.
This will be like a gym membership where you pay $200 for 10 week session to participate one Saturday or all Saturdays in a quarter. You must register but then can attend as often or as little as you want. Registration is now open!

Fee:
The first ticket for all households will cost $30. All other tickets will cost $20 per person and will cover admission, breakfast and parking.
Children two and under are free!
Meal-only tickets for $15 for seasonal pass members.
Young women on the spectrum creating art, friendships, and fun!
Social group for women on the spectrum ages 18 and older to get together and have a fun night socializing and doing arts and crafts. This will be held the 3rd Thursday of every month!
All supplies will be provided. Bring food and drink to share!

U4C Local Self-Advocacy Area Networks are meeting in-person in September!
This is a chance for more folks to become involved in self-advocacy activities and events while spreading the word about what it means to speak your truth as a self-advocate, and move closer to the life you would like to have. We're looking forward to meeting in September to focus on voting.
Join your friends at Cobb Lekotek for a morning of sensory fun! We're planning some messy & creative activities: bubbles, the rice table, play-doh, stickers, and more! Dress appropriately! This could get a little messy, but it's sure to be fun! The playdate is free, but a $10 donation per family is recommended to help offset the cost of supplies. The FODAC Golf Classic will be held at Smoke Rise Country Club on Friday, September 27, 2024, to raise funds for FODAC’s home medical equipment (HME) program. The funds will help provide mobility items like wheelchairs, walkers, standers, patient lifts, and hospital beds to improve the quality of life for adults and children with disabilities.
Auturity will host Atlanta Autism Fashion Night (AAFN) to celebrate diversity in the community. As a prelude to Atlanta Fashion Week (ATLFW), AAFN proudly features autistic models as the first to grace the runway, emphasizing the importance of inclusion, acceptance, and opportunity in the fashion industry. Accompanied by friendly paparazzi and fashion enthusiasts, our models will showcase the latest creations from renowned designers. This empowering event aims to provide a sense of normalcy to Georgia families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). With a "live from the red carpet" feel, AAFN will offer a curated experience, complete with a pre-show cocktail hour. PR/Media coverage of this event will raise awareness of ASD, affecting 1 in 36 Americans.
