• Georgia’s Home and Community-Based Waivers (NOW/COMP)

    Join us as P2P provides an overview of Georgia’s Medicaid waivers, and will explore specifically the NOW/COMP waivers. You will learn about the eligibility requirements, how to apply, the services covered, and what happens once your child/young adult’s NOW/COMP waiver is funded. You will also be provided some tips and suggestions on how Parent to Parent of Georgia can help you navigate this process.

    Join us as P2P discuss Medicaid programs and services, including how to qualify for Medicaid based on a child’s disability or chronic health condition (Katie Beckett Deeming Waiver). This course will include information on EPSDT, GAPP, SOURCE, and a brief overview of CCSP, ICWP and NOW/COMP waivers.

    This is a time where esp families can come together and enjoy a free meal, community, and hear about upcoming events!

    Your Role: As a volunteer at family dinner, you will help serve food, greet families, and join them for dinner. This is a great way to get to know our families and members. You will NOT be directly paired with a participant as a buddy like at a Club Event, so you will not need a Background Check.

    Unwind in the AANE movie discussion group! This is a group for those who enjoy movies to talk about them with other Neurodivergent participants. There isn’t a specific theme or film per session, the group functions as an informal space to discuss a wide variety of your favorite (or least favorite!) movies. Both verbal and typed discussion allowed and encouraged!

    As a new school year begins, we know schedules are quickly filling with different start dates, school routines, and extracurricular activities across our local districts. We are praying for each family as you settle into this new season!
    While we will be available during the first week of August, our regular weekly gatherings at Mt. Rachel Baptist Church will officially begin on August 10.
    Throughout August, we will be offering:
    * Two office hour sessions where parents and caregivers can meet with us individually for support, resources, or to pick up needed supplies.
    * One community play date, providing a welcoming space where children can enjoy time together while parents and caregivers build meaningful friendships, encourage one another, and find community with others who understand their journey.
    * Our first Parent Connect of the year, featuring a representative from SEEDS. SEEDS is a program designed to strengthen early learning classroom practices by equipping educators with evidence-based strategies that support the developmental success of all children, including those with disabilities and those who exhibit challenging behaviors.
