• Women on the Spectrum Social Support Group

    Spectrum has partnered with Emory School of Nursing in starting a Women Only Group for women ages 18 and up with HFA/Asperger's, focusing on sharing challenges and successes of transition, supporting one another, and building friendships for success. This group meets twice monthly via Zoom, first and 3rd Fridays.     Join our team of volunteers, special tutors, music therapist and behavioral therapist as we showcase the artist amongst our children on canvas. This event not only engages motor skills but showcases the extraordinary talent of young artist waiting to be highlighted in public.

  • Animated Minds ATL

    The Animated Minds ATL is a welcoming community for autistic adults ages 18 and older who share a passion for animation and visual storytelling. This program is designed for adults who do not require support or supervision and who enjoy creating and sharing their work with others.

    Participants gather to talk about animation, draw, create, and connect with others who share similar interests. Members often bring their own creations to share with the group — including characters, animated shorts, comic books, and other visual storytelling projects. The club celebrates creativity, imagination, and collaboration in a supportive environment.

    Each month, participants also have the opportunity to learn from guest speakers with expertise in animation, art, film, voice acting, and more, who share their skills and creative process with the group.

    Join us monthly for an support group that offers Autistic women, age 50+ an opportunity to come together to explore issues such as:

    Mid-Life Identity
    Managing Stress and Coping Strategies

  • Workshop – Hacks, Strategies, & Supports for Autistic Adults

    As a follow-up to our Intro to Autism Workshop, this 90-minute workshop will go through practical ways Autistic adults can find the support that they need. We will discuss how to determine what you need, and then some practical ideas on how to meet those needs. This will include possible service providers and how to find them, as well as some hacks and strategies that might work for you.

    Note that this is different from our benefits conference, which gives comprehensive information on how to get services covered by state benefits. This webinar is also open to parents, caregivers, and loved ones of Autistic adults.

    AANE can offer participants a reduced fee or free registration. As long as space remains in the group, no one requesting financial aid will be turned away. To request financial aid, send an email to events@aane.org.

    Join us for camaraderie and fun! We will be playing a variety of Jackbox games that we will select as a group! Most games fit about 8 participants, but are still a blast to watch! We rotate through both games and players to have a great time together!

  • Let’s Get Away, Together!

    This series is comprised of interactive sessions with each week focusing on a new place or cultural activity, while incorporating storytelling, music, poetry writing, and/or a simple craft. Each session will include a follow-up message filled with tips, activities, and recipes for families to continue to enjoy after the virtual trip. The focus of each group is to explore a new world, experience a variety of engaging opportunities, and enjoy a sense of camaraderie and community.

We will discuss how to determine what your family needs, and then some practical ideas on how to meet those needs. This will include possible service providers and how to find them, as well as some strategies that might work in your home. Note that this is different from our Benefits conference, which gives comprehensive information on how to get services covered by state benefits. You are welcome in this webinar regardless of whether or not your child or teen has a medical diagnosis of autism. Please note that we may not be able to answer complex questions about your situation during the presentation. However, this is a great place to get ideas, and then consider accessing Parent Coaching for specialized support.

  • Movie Discussion Group for Adults

    Unwind in the AANE movie discussion group! This is a group for those who enjoy movies to talk about them with other Neurodivergent participants. There isn’t a specific theme or film per session, the group functions as an informal space to discuss a wide variety of your favorite (or least favorite!) movies. Both verbal and typed discussion allowed and encouraged!
