  • Partners in Education Transition Mini-Conference

    FREE conference is for youth and their parents/caregivers to learn about the transition to adult life, adult services, and self-advocacy.

    Join us in person to learn strategies and resources from SPAN!

    There will be a variety of Exhibitors providing resources.

    Parents and caregivers (who can attend separate tracks) must accompany the conference with their young adult/youth. SPAN does not provide support to individuals, but they are welcome to provide their support person.

  • Support Group for Teens (15-19)

    This group meets on the second Saturday of the month and is for individuals (ages 15-19) who are Autistic or who suspect they are. All AANE-facilitated support groups provide information, connection, and community where participants can share similar issues and concerns and celebrate successes. Groups are designed for the teens only – parents and other family members should not attend the groups.

  • Sensory-Friendly Family Fun Day

    Horizon Over the Spectrum, Inc. invites everyone to the Sensory-Friendly Family Fun Day on Saturday, April 11, 2026. This day is designed specifically for neurodivergent children and their families to celebrate Autism Awareness Month in a calm, creative, and judgment-free environment.

  • Support Group for Adults

    This support group is for Autistic adults (18+) who are post k-12. Through this support group, members can connect with a variety of participants.

    AANE support groups give members an opportunity to celebrate successes and support each other through difficulties. Common topics of discussion are:

    Masking/camouflaging
    Sensory sensitivities/overloads
    Relationships
    Self-care
    Disclosure

  • Saturday Social Club

    Spectrum Autism Support Center 2997 Main St, Duluth, GA, United States

    Spectrum Saturday Social Club will provide a safe space for adults who are on the autism spectrum. Participants who are out of high school and are 18 years or older, have independent self help skills, and are able to function with little supervision. The group will meet on Saturdays from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm where they will play games, enjoy karaoke, or watch movies with friends. The club will be supervised by professional staff that will facilitate the members to help make new friends and strengthen social skills.

    This will be like a gym membership where you pay $200 for 10 week session to participate one Saturday or all Saturdays in a quarter. You must register but then can attend as often or as little as you want. Registration is now open!

  • Reimagining Schools, Neighborhoods & Faith Communities to Include All Children and Youth

    Tubman African American Museum 310 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia

    This free event brings together some powerful organizations all working toward the same goal — making sure every child and young person feels like they truly belong. The groups behind it include the Center on Human Development and Disability at the University of Georgia (CHDD UGA), the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD), Out of Hand Theatre, Wesleyan College, Lipson Advocacy, the Georgia Advocacy Office, and the Tubman Museum.

    Guests can look forward to a powerful one-person theatrical performance, light snacks and drinks, and open conversation about what inclusion really looks like — and how we can all help make it happen. On-site childcare and family support will be available, so families with young children are especially encouraged to come.

  • Knitting & Needlecraft Social Group for Adults

    Do you enjoy crafts such as knitting, crocheting, sewing, and embroidery? AANE has created a new online group for you! The group is available to Autistic adults regardless of skill level or diagnosis. The group will meet every second Sunday of the month on Zoom. Each meeting will have time to work on individual projects and get feedback from group members.

  • Introduction to Autism for Families

    This 90-minute workshop will address common misconceptions, investigate Autistic identity, and explore Autistic traits, strengths, and challenges. This presentation will provide insights into your child’s neurotype, preparing you with an informed mindset for raising an Autistic child. Parents, family members, and caregivers of individuals who are potentially Autistic are also encouraged to attend.

  • Building Bridges, Breaking Down Walls: Transforming Conflict in the Care of Medically Complex Children

    Conflict often emerges when navigating the medical, emotional, and relational complexities of caring for medically complex children. This session examines why conflict happens, how it escalates or de-escalates, and introduces practical approaches for transforming conflict in ways that preserve relationships, honor diverse perspectives, and center what matters most.

    This event will take place on Monday, April 13th at 8:00 pm ET (7:00 pm CT, 6:00 pm MT, 5:00 pm PT).

    Learning objectives:

    Identify common sources of conflict when caring for medically complex children, including differences in values, goals, communication patterns, and perspective.
    Recognize the dynamics that escalate or de-escalate conflict, including the role of power, trust, communication dynamics, and emotion.
    Explore approaches for navigating conflict in ways that honor relationships, create space for difficult conversations, and focus on what matters most.
