We’re excited to share some sensory-friendly activities happening right here in our community this September. 🌈🖍️🎶 These events are designed with kids in mind — safe, welcoming, and full of opportunities to explore and enjoy.
Santa is back for Pictures with Santa! He will be at the Kiwanis Fairgrounds Community Building, 6942 GA-67, Statesboro, GA 30458. We hope to see you there!
During Sensory Sensitive Sundays at Chuck E. Cheese Chattanooga, our game room transforms into a quieter, more soothing space where children with sensory sensitivities can enjoy all their favorite games without the overwhelming sights and sounds.
Fun sports and activities for differently abled children and young adults. All of the sports and activities are modified so that anyone can participate and have fun. Each participant is assigned a Buddy to help them with the sport. In some cases there are two participants to one Buddy, depending on the skill set of participants.
Modifications are also made for each sports event. Examples include lowered nets. shortened fields, increased ball size, decreased ball weigh, etc. We want this to be fun for your child and entire family, in a safe and secure environment.
Kids ages 8-15 are invited to join us for computer games, pizza and fun! Cost is $10 (scholarships are available) Registration is required--space is limited.

Our Respite Weekend is coming up! We have openings for a sleepover weekend where for a minimal fee, your child can stay with us and our licensed caregivers. A sleepover fun time will be had by all! Food, games and activities are included. Space is limited, so please call with any questions or to reserve your place. We look forward to it! If paying with Avita, we will have a voucher ready for you to sign at drop off. If you would like to know if your child qualifies for funding, call Teresa (706)436-6756.

We are working with Kim Johnson of Exceedingly Me Technical Training and Job Readiness, Inc. to create a workshop for the dads and boys in the special needs community. This event will focus on some sensory friendly actitives that are stem related and hands-on because many of our boys and young men need those types of provisions to learn new activites. This event will also have a focus on teaching these boys and young men to put on a tie and learning some positive affirmations that will help build positive self esteem. All of these skills are needed as these boys and young men enter into the adult world and our community. This event is also for the dads and men in our community that are trying to parent a son or mentor a boy or young man with special needs. This event will allow them to focus on the able and not the label in order to build necessary skills as a boy or young man in this world.
A sensory friendly event specifically for the special needs community. Featuring police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, bucket trucks, tow trucks, tractors, and more in a reduced noise environment that encourages hands on exploration. Fun for all ages! Plus, you can get free Kona Ice!
