This workshop will focus on helping parents and professionals “create agreement” and avoid, minimize, or appropriately address conflict in the IFSP and IEP process. Participants will:
1. explore the benefits and challenges of parent-professional collaboration
2. learn best practices for creating agreement, addressing power imbalances, and implementing cultural reciprocity
3. learn how to “create agreement” with others in your district
The Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education (BIAAE) is thrilled to offer free online group music lessons for teens (ages 14-18), welcoming participants of all skill levels who want to explore singing or playing any instrument in a supportive, friendly, and creative environment. Join and collaborate with students from across the country!
What to Expect:
Our class features whole group instruction, small group lessons, and private instruction. Sessions focus on:
Learning to read notes and rhythms
Basic music theory topics
Different genres of music
Developing instrumental or vocal technique
Practicing techniques to expand your musical ability
Recording your own music
Sometimes it can be difficult to know how much to support your children into work. You might get some push back from them, but if you can demonstrate that you are helping them to become more independent by having some money coming in for the things they would like to buy, or so that they can one-day live independently, they might be more receptive. This session will give you tips to help you as a parent to support your child in identifying their strengths, help them understand how to self-advocate for their needs and what kind of jobs they can start applying for straight away.
AANE is offering an 6-week virtual group for Autistic and Neurodivergent teens aged 17-19. This group is designed to provide teens with a safe space to feel connected to and engage with each other while practicing their social skills in a facilitated setting. The group will be developed based on the interests and needs of the members.

Topics and speaking points will vary for each meeting, ranging from everyday hang outs to preparing for adult responsibilities.
