Through open dialogue, discussions will include demystifying what a partner might be looking for in a sexual relationship and strategies to grow intimacy. Group members will be free to ask questions and speak candidly about a range of issues, including performance anxiety, sensory sensitivities, and the impact of media culture on sexual intimacy.

Parenting can be demanding, frustrating, and at times stressful long after the child is grown. Autistic children can often have unique challenges. Parent Support Groups provide feedback, support, and perspective from peers on a variety of common issues. Groups are meant strictly for parents and do not include the Autistic child.

![]() Healthy Relationships on the Autism Spectrum (HEARTS) is a 8 session workshop for Autistic adults who would like to learn about, and talk about, healthy friendship and dating relationships. The workshop does not teach how to find new dating partners or friends. Rather, it provides education about what a healthy vs. unhealthy relationship feels like, how to notice warning signs that a relationship is becoming unhealthy, how to cope with a breakup or end of a friendship how to restart friendships with people when you have fallen out of touch, and how to stay motivated to meet new people. In this presentation, the speakers will describe why and how they co-created the HEARTS program, what they have learned from facilitating sessions, and what the evidence suggests about HEARTS. An important note: This is a presentation about HEARTS, not a HEARTS workshop, attendees will not learn new relationship skills from this presentation.

![]() Learn about Medicaid programs and services, including how to qualify for Medicaid based on a child’s disability or chronic health condition (Katie Beckett Deeming Waiver). This course will include information on EPSDT, GAPP, SOURCE, and a brief overview of CCSP, ICWP and NOW/COMP waivers. ![]() This open group meets on the second Monday of the month and is for the neurotypical individual married to or in partnership with someone who is Neurodivergent. This group may include student observers who at times may serve as Assistant Facilitators. This is AANE’s way of helping to train future facilitators who are training to be providers in the autism community. They are usually graduate students in social work, psychology, counseling or school psychology. Any assistant facilitators present are introduced at the beginning of the meeting.

However, families may have a difficult time seeing the benefits of employment. This session will breakdown the most common steps in facilitating community-based employment for an individual with a disability and highlight ways families and caregivers can play a role in the process. Topics will include tools for initiating a strengths-based employment search, the importance of work experiences, and tips for navigating employment supports. Families who understand the employment process may be more likely to embrace real work as the preferred option for their loved one, leading to lives that are meaningful and deeply connected to a person's community.
