    Online “Open” Support Group for Partners of Autistic Individuals

    This open group meets on the second Monday of the month and is for the neurotypical individual married to or in partnership with someone who is Neurodivergent.

    This group may include student observers who at times may serve as Assistant Facilitators. This is AANE’s way of helping to train future facilitators who are training to be providers in the autism community. They are usually graduate students in social work, psychology, counseling or school psychology. Any assistant facilitators present are introduced at the beginning of the meeting.

    This “closed” support group is designed for Autistic women (40-60) looking to build an ongoing connection with a small community of other women. This “closed” support group also gives women an opportunity to voice their concerns and frustrations and lets them acknowledge hard-won and unexpected victories. Common topics of discussion are:

    Sensory sensitivities/overloads
    Relationships
    Self-care
    Empathy

    Uniting for Change continues to grow the self-advocacy network across Georgia. This is an opportunity for all self-advocates to be a part of a movement that supports people to have a life of choice.

    Join us on December 10th on Zoom. All self-advocates with their allies and supporters are invited. We will start the meeting together and then break-out into Local Area Networks to continue reviewing our priorities and next steps for each Area.
