    This multi-session support group is designed for Autistic women (40-60) looking to build an ongoing connection with a small community of other women. This support group also gives women an opportunity to voice their concerns and frustrations and lets them acknowledge hard-won and unexpected victories. Common topics of discussion are:

    Relationships
    Self-care
    Empathy

  • Serving on Groups: The Role of Families and Skills for Serving on Groups

    Studies show that children perform better at school, have fewer absences and behavioral concerns, and graduate at higher rates when families are engaged. Serving on Groups is a nationally recognized leadership tool that empowers family members to actively and fully participate in decision-making groups, such as their child’s IEP team, school advisory council or other government councils. Sections 7 and 8 provide helpful tools for staying organized while participating in a group as well as discuss important skills, such as facilitation and conflict management, to succeed as a family representative.

  • Parent Support Group – Parents of Children

    Spectrum Autism Support Center 2997 Main St, Duluth, GA, United States

    Spectrum hosts monthly parent meetings the first and second Thursday of each month featuring guest speakers who share their knowledge and expertise regarding a variety of topics related to the Autism Spectrum Disorder. First Thursday of the month meetings are offered Sept-May for parents of school age children. Breakout sessions are also offered for Dads, parents of preschoolers, and in Spanish only.

    Social Skills programs are offered at the same time for children ages 5-22. Childcare is offered for those under 5. Second Thursday of the month meetings are for parents of adults out of high school and for adults on the spectrum.

    Join us for “Dating, Romance, and Sexual Health” moderated by award-winning educator and sexologist Bianca I Laureano PhD, MA2, CSES. This webinar is open to anyone 18 and older, and will be the second of a two-part series on the topic of disability, dating, and sexual heath. Bianca will be joined by a marvelous panel of other disabled sex educators and experts in the field: Bethany Stevens, Cherry Kaufman and Rise Osby. Bring your friends, your questions, an open mind, and be ready for a fun evening discussing all things sex as a disabled person! All of our webinars will have live captioning and ASL interpretation, including recordings that will be sent out to registered attendees.
