    Living Well in the Community (LWIC)

    Are you ready to take charge of your health, happiness, and independence — your way?
    Living Well in the Community (LWIC) is a FREE, peer-led workshop series created by and for people with disabilities who want to build healthier, more fulfilling lives.
    Facilitated by trained LIFE staff, this interactive program helps you strengthen practical life skills, discover new strategies for self-care, and connect with others on the same journey toward wellness and independence.
    What to Expect:
    Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM - First session is 10/13/2025
    (Each session includes a 15-minute break)
    Format: Hybrid (join in person or online via Zoom)
    Length: 5 weeks | 10 total sessions
    Location: Virtually via Zoom (link will be provided upon registration) and in person at LIFE, Inc. – 4811 Waters Avenue, Savannah, GA
    Who Can Join:
    Any adult with a documented disability - but you must live within LIFE’s service area*.
    Space is limited - we can enroll up to 12 participants per series, so don't wait to register!

  • How to Talk to Your Doctor

    Being a family caregiver can be a very difficult journey and many find it emotionally, physically, and financially taxing. What can come as an unpleasant surprise to some is the first encounter with the health care system as a family caregiver. You may find the experience has left you frustrated, confused, and with a feeling of the system being very impersonal.

    How to Talk to Your Doctor will help you to:
    -understand the current realities of the health care experience
    -identify and use more effective communication techniques with health care professionals
    -learn and practice powerful communication tools and techniques in order to be a better advocate for the person you are caring for and yourself
