This support group is for Autistic adults (18+) who are post k-12. Through this support group, members can connect with a variety of participants on the topic of employment. Whether you’re currently working, looking for a job or recuperating from burn out, this group is a chance to receive support, share what works for you and learn from each other, on all things related to employment.

Details: Information technology (IT) is rapidly transforming the way organizations operate, driving employer demand for new skills to stay competitive. As opportunities advance in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure, the IT industry is increasingly seeking qualified candidates to fill those roles. Organizations are exploring a variety of approaches such as apprenticeship programs and skills-based hiring to include workers with disabilities in the IT industry and the future of work. Join the Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability (EARN) and representatives from Apprenti for a free webinar exploring today’s technology workforce. This session will examine how employers are expanding access to tech careers and preparing disabled workers for success. Speakers will share insights from the IT sector, discuss innovative training and career-entry models, and highlight practical examples of how organizations are creating pathways into high-demand occupations.

Many neurodivergent people spend years trying to adapt to workplaces that do not fit the way they think, communicate, or work. This interactive session explores whether self-employment, freelancing, consulting, or business ownership could offer an alternative. We will examine both the strengths and challenges of entrepreneurship, look at different ways of working for yourself, and discuss practical strategies for building work around your needs, interests and strengths. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of whether self-employment might be an option worth exploring. By the end of this session, participants will: Understand different forms of self-employment and entrepreneurship.
