Siblings of individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and/or intensive needs often carry unique joys and challenges throughout their lives. This talk explores the emotional dynamics that can shape sibling relationships, ranging from love and pride to stress and resentment. The presentation offers practical ways families can foster connection, understanding, and mutual support. Together, we’ll discuss both proactive and responsive strategies to help siblings feel seen, supported, and confident in their roles, both now and in the future.
