    Eligibility
    Have a physical and/or developmental disabilities, including Rare Genetic Syndromes, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Down Syndrome.
    FOCUS Kid must be between ages 14 and 29; & Alumni
    Willing to stay safe with a group and function in a 1:8 caregiver to participant ratio.
    Stay with the group in a public place, with gentle reminders
    Not need medical care that requires a nurse
    Not need help toileting during a 2-hour period

    Make the holidays last longer. Find your favorite ugly Christmas sweater and Join us for a post-holiday, holiday party! The teens will play board games, make crafts, and sing festive karaoke songs.

    When: Saturday, January 4th, 11AM-1PM

    Where: Embry Hill United Methodist church | 3304 Henderson Mill Rd, Atlanta

    Eligibility: 

    Have physical and/or developmental disabilities, including Rare Genetic Syndromes, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Down Syndrome.
    FOCUS Kid must be between ages 13 and 29

    Children participating in FOCUS activities range in age from birth through 29 years old and have lifelong developmental and/or physical disabilities. Some common diagnoses include but are not limited to cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, spina bifida, degenerative illnesses, and rare genetic syndromes.

    Share Groups are free support groups for parents and meet monthly (September to May) in several locations around metro Atlanta so parents can meet other parents and share tips, fears, and joys.   • Extra Special Saturday Respite

    Embry Hills UMC 3304 Henderson Mill Road, Chamblee, GA

    A nurse is at each location to manage G-tube feedings, seizures, and other medical care. Caregivers at each location are knowledgeable and experienced in caring for children with special needs. Ratio of caregiver to child is 1:4, but community volunteers are often on hand to help and play. It’s a wonderful time for the children to enjoy free play, music, and extra attention from FOCUS caregivers and volunteers. Oh, and the parents enjoy the break!!

    Have a physical and/or developmental disability, including rare genetic syndromes, cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome.
    Be age 1-12 at the date of respite.
    Willing to stay with a group and function in a 1:4 caregiver to child ratio.
    Have no recent instances of elopement or wandering away.

    FAST Fins Mountain View Aquatic Center

    Instructional Pool

    Dates: 2/21, 2/28, 3/14, 3/21, 4/4, 4/11, 4/18 (Closed on March 7th and 28th)

    FAST Fins does not offer swim lessons – participants must be able to swim and be safe in the water without flotation. FAST Fins is a swim team, not swim lessons. Not only do swimmers need to be able to swim, they need to WANT to swim. We understand that playing and splashing in the water is fun, but FAST Fins is a time set aside for swimming laps and working on technique to attain better skills and confidence in the water.

    Spring Registration Opens Tuesday, January 7th in the Family Portal!

    Eligibility
    FOCUS Kid must be ages 5-29 years old at the start of the Swim Season.
    Can swim in deep water without flotation or adult assistance
    Able (and willing) to swim at least 25 yards (the length of the pool) without any assistance
    Swim strokes do not need to be developed, but they must be able to swim on top of the water in a safe manner
    Able to follow directions of safety and take instruction in a group setting
    Be cooperative and follow directions in a group
