Multi-Session Support Group for Gender Diverse Adults

Virtual

This group is for autistic adults who are also nonbinary, trans, and/or questioning. This group is not for folks who identify with the gender they were assigned at birth (cisgender). You may enjoy this group if you feel the need or desire for community to discuss issues relating to neurodiversity and gender identity. We will both celebrate successes and support each other through difficulties. This multi-session support group meets for 8 sessions, every other week.

This closed group is designed for parents and family members of Autistic high school teens. This group is limited to 15 participants for caregivers to connect with one another and share information.

Using Emerging Technologies to Improve Supported Employment Service Delivery to Rural Youth and Adults with IDD

This webinar explores the unique challenges of delivering supported and customized employment services in rural areas for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Participants will discover how emerging technologies like generative AI, virtual job coaching, and robotics can enhance service delivery and skill-building. Additionally, the session will highlight innovative tools such as virtual reality and telehealth to support employment success and skill acquisition in rural communities.

Support Group for LGBTQIA+ Adults

Description
This is an hour-long support group for Autistic LGBTQIA+ adults. It is a safe space to find community, share stories with, or gather support if needed from folks of similar experiences. This group hopes to provide support and comfort. The group is facilitated by a trans person on the spectrum. No autism (or related) diagnoses are required, nor is certainty about your queer identity. This is a space to explore all those things. It is also for all post-high school adults over 18 years old.

Multi-Session Small Group Employment Coaching for New Job Seekers

If you are starting out on your search for a job or have been looking for some time and it’s all a bit intimidating and confusing for you, this coaching course could be just what you need to demystify the process.

This practical coaching course will cover all aspects of job hunting by building your knowledge weekly, helping you identify action steps and supporting you to work through any worries or issues you face, with the help of a workbook. You will be provided with guidance, training, accountability and inspiration over 8 weeks to help you feel more confident about applying for, interviewing for, securing and keeping a job.

Multi-Session Support Group for Autistic Parents

This is a Support Group for autistic adults who are parents. As an autistic individual, parenting brings with it a multitude of unique experiences and challenges. That’s why we’re here! Together we can share lived experiences and offer support to one another so we can grow and succeed in parenthood. Parents of all genders are welcome, whether your child is arriving soon, a toddler, in high school, or an adult themselves. This group is open to parents of all genders.

Multi-Session Support Group for Parents of Adults (18-35)

This 8-week AANE support group is for parents and caregivers of Autistic or similarly neurodivergent young adult children ages 18-35. This small group setting allows parents and caregivers to connect with each other, share experiences, celebrations and delivers a wealth of information.

FAST Fins Mountain View Aquatic Center

Dates: 2/21, 2/28, 3/14, 3/21, 4/4, 4/11, 4/18 (Closed on March 7th and 28th)

FAST Fins does not offer swim lessons – participants must be able to swim and be safe in the water without flotation. FAST Fins is a swim team, not swim lessons. Not only do swimmers need to be able to swim, they need to WANT to swim. We understand that playing and splashing in the water is fun, but FAST Fins is a time set aside for swimming laps and working on technique to attain better skills and confidence in the water.

Spring Registration Opens Tuesday, January 7th in the Family Portal!

Eligibility
FOCUS Kid must be ages 5-29 years old at the start of the Swim Season.
Can swim in deep water without flotation or adult assistance
Able (and willing) to swim at least 25 yards (the length of the pool) without any assistance
Swim strokes do not need to be developed, but they must be able to swim on top of the water in a safe manner
Able to follow directions of safety and take instruction in a group setting
Be cooperative and follow directions in a group

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie... That's Amore! Join us for our first dance of 2025! Wear red for Valentine's! We will have a delicious Italian spaghetti dinner, followed by dessert, dancing, and photobooth. DJ Randle will be in the house, so it's sure to be a fun night!

We will also have Valentine Carnations for sale! Show your love by buying one for a friend, parent or caregiver, or secret admirer!

Peachtree City Share Group

Support Groups also called Share Groups are the backbone of FOCUS, the first program ever offered. Share Groups meet monthly (September to May) in several different locations around metro Atlanta so parents can meet other parents and share tips, fears, and joys. Parent volunteers facilitate the groups, keeping them positive, constructive, and uplifting.

Eligibility:

Be a parent/caregiver of a child/young adult with a physical and/or developmental disabilities, including rare genetic syndromes, cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome.
Parents will review and sign COVID-19 acknowledgements and the guidelines required by FOCUS for the Share Group Season before attending their first meeting.
