Spectrum Saturday Social Club will provide a safe space for adults who are on the autism spectrum. Participants who are out of high school and are 18 years or older, have independent self help skills, and are able to function with little supervision. The group will meet on Saturdays from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm where they will play games, enjoy karaoke, or watch movies with friends. The club will be supervised by professional staff that will facilitate the members to help make new friends and strengthen social skills.
This will be like a gym membership where you pay $200 for 10 week session to participate one Saturday or all Saturdays in a quarter. You must register but then can attend as often or as little as you want. Registration is now open!
Transgender and Non-Binary individuals are 4-6 times more likely to be Autistic than the cisgender population. In this workshop, we explore this intersection by increasing cultural awareness, literacy, and knowledge about gender identity, discuss gender transition and gender affirming care for Autistic people, and think critically about our role in supporting transgender, Autistic individuals.
Join us for this workshop to learn about technology that can help teens and adults with disabilities build the skills they need to get and keep a job. Participants will see demos of apps and devices that can support them through managing time, staying organized, and getting tasks done — like alarms, calendars, to-do lists, reminders, and task directions. They'll also explore how executive function tools like these can help them gain more confidence and succeed at work.
If an ASL interpreter is required, please notify workshops@pacer.org at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
Join the Atlanta Autism Consortium on Tuesday, June 30th for the free program, "A Father’s Journey with Autism: A Panel Discussion." This evening will include a candid and engaging conversation with fathers of autistic children as they share their unique experiences navigating diagnosis, advocacy, family life and the joys and challenges of raising a child on the autism spectrum.
Through a panel discussion format, participants will hear a variety of perspectives and lived experiences, exploring topics such as supporting their children, caring for themselves and their families, building resilience, navigating resources and finding community along the way.
Whether you are a parent, family member, professional, or community member, this program offers an opportunity to listen, learn, and gain insight into the diverse journeys of fathers within the autism community.
This virtual program is free, but advanced registration is required. For more information about this event and our speaker, and to reserve your spot, please visit the ticketing link.
