This uplifting event kicks off our Autism Acceptance Celebration and invites runners, walkers, families, and friends of all abilities to come together in support of Kalos Academy's Building Campaign. Our mission is to raise $2.5 million to build a dedicated school for children with autism and other learning differences. 5K Race – For experienced runners ready to shine their brightest on a certified course Fun Run/Walk – A disability-inclusive and family-friendly run/walk designed for all ages and abilities. This workshop brings together experts in mental health, financial planning, and disability support services to build a shared foundation — covering research, theory, and practical resources grounded in real family experience. This free event brings together some powerful organizations all working toward the same goal — making sure every child and young person feels like they truly belong. The groups behind it include the Center on Human Development and Disability at the University of Georgia (CHDD UGA), the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD), Out of Hand Theatre, Wesleyan College, Lipson Advocacy, the Georgia Advocacy Office, and the Tubman Museum. Guests can look forward to a powerful one-person theatrical performance, light snacks and drinks, and open conversation about what inclusion really looks like — and how we can all help make it happen. On-site childcare and family support will be available, so families with young children are especially encouraged to come. Spectrum has partnered with Greater Goals ABA to support local families by providing free early developmental screenings and autism diagnostic access for children under 8 years old — helping reduce long waitlists and ensuring families can access services sooner. This event focuses on early identification, parent education, meaningful community support, and creating a faster path to intervention. Families receive a no-waitlist screening opportunity, along with clear next steps tailored to their child’s needs. They gain faster access to therapy services and guidance navigating insurance options, so they can move forward with confidence.

The Animated Minds ATL is a welcoming community for autistic adults ages 18 and older who share a passion for animation and visual storytelling. This program is designed for adults who do not require support or supervision and who enjoy creating and sharing their work with others. Participants gather to talk about animation, draw, create, and connect with others who share similar interests. Members often bring their own creations to share with the group — including characters, animated shorts, comic books, and other visual storytelling projects. The club celebrates creativity, imagination, and collaboration in a supportive environment. Each month, participants also have the opportunity to learn from guest speakers with expertise in animation, art, film, voice acting, and more, who share their skills and creative process with the group.

Fostering vocabulary development helps children with the acquisition of language. Language acquisition supports literacy skills as young children grow and develop. Participants will come away from this session with ways to incorporate language and vocabulary instruction in the home to support their children in the early and elementary grades. The Run, Walk ‘n’ Roll is an annual event that is inclusive of all ages and abilities. Its goal is to raise funds for our Home Medical Equipment Program. On Saturday, April 25th, 2026, from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm, supporters can join us at Stone Mountain Park or participate virtually by running, walking, rolling, or any other type of movement! All activities for both options are self-guided and self-paced. This event supports our home medical equipment program, which provides mobility equipment to those in need at little to no cost!

Join your Lekotek friends for a fun, wheelchair accessible fishing outing at Island Ford--Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. A park ranger and volunteers will offer a basic introduction to fishing to catch fish in the pond. The dock has a railing and is wheelchair accessible. There will also be an aquarium at the dock to view the fish (and turtles) that we catch before we release them back into the pond. Information about a free Acess Pass (for individuals with a disability) for National Parks will be available on site. |

Supporting Americans with disabilities as apprentices helps industries and the nation stay competitive globally. The Office of Disability Employment Policy’s Job Accommodation Network, known as JAN, and Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability, known as EARN, are your partners in supporting apprentice success. EARN will share strategies on how to leverage youth and workers with disabilities as apprentices to meet workforce needs and boost productivity. JAN will share how accommodations support the journey of an apprentice from a learner to skilled professional. Reasonable accommodations ensure apprenticeships are available for all Americans, including those with disabilities. Spectrum Saturday Social Club will provide a safe space for adults who are on the autism spectrum. Participants who are out of high school and are 18 years or older, have independent self help skills, and are able to function with little supervision. The group will meet on Saturdays from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm where they will play games, enjoy karaoke, or watch movies with friends. The club will be supervised by professional staff that will facilitate the members to help make new friends and strengthen social skills. This will be like a gym membership where you pay $200 for 10 week session to participate one Saturday or all Saturdays in a quarter. You must register but then can attend as often or as little as you want. Registration is now open!
