    AANE support groups give members an opportunity to celebrate successes and support each other through difficulties. Common topics of discussion are:

    Relationships
    Self-care
    Disclosure

  • Support Group for LGBTQIA+ Adults

    This is an hour-long support group for Autistic LGBTQIA+ adults. It is a safe space to find community, share stories with, or gather support if needed from folks of similar experiences. This group hopes to provide support and comfort. The group is facilitated by a trans person on the spectrum. No autism (or related) diagnoses are required, nor is certainty about your queer identity. This is a space to explore all those things. It is also for all post-high school adults over 18 years old.

  • Multi-Session Workshop – Kitchenworks: Making Delicious Food with Less Stress & Less Mess for Adults

    Join chef Ronna Welsh, founder of Purple Kale Kitchenworks and author of The Nimble Cook, for a virtual six week cooking series to learn how to organize, simplify, and enjoy everyday meals. In this series, we will:

    – Review shopping strategies and tips
    – Read and annotate recipes to make them easy to follow
    – Learn how to set up a personalized, nutritious kitchen pantry
    – Review essential, basic cooking techniques
    – See how to set up your own Chef Station
    – Learn how to turn leftovers into “look-forwards”

    Sessions will include virtual cooking demonstrations and opportunities for you to ask questions and show off what you’ve been cooking!

  • Workshop – Introduction to Autism for Adults

    A presentation and discussion for Autistic adults to come and explore their understanding of autism through a neurological lens. We will discuss common misconceptions, the Autistic identity, and common Autistic traits, strengths, and challenges. This presentation is given by an Autistic adult and a Neurodivergent ally. You might enjoy this presentation and discussion if you are newly diagnosed, considering whether you may be autistic, or if you have only explored autism through a deficit lens in the past.

You may enjoy this group if you feel the need or desire for community to discuss issues relating to neurodiversity and gender identity. We will both celebrate successes and support each other through difficulties. This multi-session support group meets for 8 sessions, every other week. Advanced registration is required.

  • Support Group – Gender Identity for Adults

    This group always meets on the first Thursday of the month and is for post-high school Autistic adults who are interested in discussing and exploring their gender in a supportive setting. Most people who attend identify as transgender, nonbinary, and/or genderfluid, and some are questioning their gender identity or gender roles. Join us to share stories and perspectives, and to get support. No autism diagnosis or certainty about gender identity is required to attend. This is a safe place to explore intersecting identities.

    Spectrum Autism Support Center 2997 Main St, Duluth, GA, United States

    Spectrum Saturday Social Club will provide a safe space for adults who are on the autism spectrum. Participants who are out of high school and are 18 years or older, have independent self help skills, and are able to function with little supervision. The group will meet on Saturdays from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm where they will play games, enjoy karaoke, or watch movies with friends. The club will be supervised by professional staff that will facilitate the members to help make new friends and strengthen social skills.

    This will be like a gym membership where you pay $200 for 10 week session to participate one Saturday or all Saturdays in a quarter. You must register but then can attend as often or as little as you want. Registration is now open!
