From feature films and podcasts to theatre and live music, there exist opportunities for creative employment throughout the state. You might get some push back from them, but if you can demonstrate that you are helping them to become more independent by having some money coming in for the things they would like to buy, or so that they can one-day live independently, they might be more receptive. Register for the 2025 Georgia Disability History Symposium! Start time: 9:00 am. *Please allow time to arrive early to park, check in, and get settled. Registration deadline: You must register by October 10, 2025. This year’s theme is: The Promise of IDEA at 50: Where Do We Go From Here? The symposium will feature Emmy award winning documentarians Dan and Samuel Habib, directors of The Ride Ahead and My Disability Roadmap. Presenters will include multiple Georgians, both young and seasoned, who have made important impacts in our state. This event is free but you must register. A catered lunch will be provided by Tazikis.The offering is vegan and vegetarian friendly, with gluten free options; an allergen list will be made available. Please note, this year we will not be serving breakfast. Communication access real-time translation (CART), audio description of print materials, and ASL will be provided.
