    FOCUS on Moms is an afternoon of fun activities and workshops, all while hanging out with other awesome FOCUS Moms! There will be no workshops on IEPS or Medicaid meetings…only fun, self-help workshops available and time to connect with others!

    An uplifting afternoon filled with soulful self-help workshops, good vibes, and nourishing lunch. Let’s gather in love, light, and sisterhood as we reconnect, recharge, and celebrate the amazing journey of motherhood. This is a Private Event for FOCUS Moms, registration is required to attend.

  • Extra Special Saturday Respite

    A nurse is at each location to manage G-tube feedings, seizures, and other medical care. Caregivers at each location are knowledgeable and experienced in caring for children with special needs. Ratio of caregiver to child is 1:4, but community volunteers are often on hand to help and play. It’s a wonderful time for the children to enjoy free play, music, and extra attention from FOCUS caregivers and volunteers. Oh, and the parents enjoy the break!!

  • Parent Workshop: Post-SECURE Act Estate Planning: What Families Should Know About Inherited IRAs

    This workshop will cover the basics of any estate plan that includes a child with a disability, including whether a Will or a Revocable Living Trust is the best plan and the role of First Party Special Needs Trust as compared to the Third Party Special Needs Trust. But we will also talk about the dramatic changes in the way inherited IRAs are now treated, thanks to the passage of the SECURE Act. The preferential treatment that is now given to a disabled beneficiary of an IRA (or a trust for that beneficiary) has altered the planning landscape for many families. We will discuss how planning for a disabled child has changed in response to this legislation. Join us with Kim Martin, Attorney at Harrison LLP.

  • Teen & Young Adult Virtual Scavenger Hunt & Pictionary

    TYA will have a scavenger hunt of different items around their home for the first half of the session. During the second half TYA will each have a turn to draw something and everyone will guess what they are drawing.
