• Neurodiverse Partners Support Group

    The Partner Support Group is for those in neurodiverse relationships with a spouse/partner who has a confirmed or suspected autism spectrum profile. The group meeting is a positive and supportive time to share experiences, gain information and understanding about how neurodiversity affects couple relationships.

    This open group meets on the third Wednesday of the month. Participants can join at any time. There is $10 cost to participants to attend any session. Advanced registration is required.

    AANE is offering an 8-week virtual group for Autistic or Neurodivergent young adults aged 19-23. This group is designed to provide young adults navigating the transition between teenage years and adulthood a safe space to feel connected to and engage with each other while practicing their social skills in a facilitated setting. The group will be developed based on the interests and needs of the members.

  • Group Music Lessons for Teens (14-19)

    Multi-Session Group Music Lessons for Teens (14-19) from Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education Berklee School of Music.
    The Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education (BIAAE) is thrilled to offer free online group music lessons for teens (ages 14-19), welcoming participants of all skill levels who want to explore singing or playing any instrument in a supportive, friendly, and creative environment. Join and collaborate with students from across the country!

    What to Expect:
    Our class features whole group instruction, small group lessons, and private instruction. Sessions focus on:

    Learning to read notes and rhythms
    Basic music theory topics
    Different genres of music
    Developing instrumental or vocal technique
    Practicing techniques to expand your musical ability
    Recording your own music

    During class, you will rehearse and collaborate with other students using Bandlab for Education, a free and easy-to-use online platform that gives you access to virtual instruments if you do not have an instrument of your own.   • Workshop – Understanding & Treating ARFID in Autistic People

    This presentation explores the intersection of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and autism, emphasizing identification, neurodiversity-affirming prevention, and supportive treatment strategies. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how ARFID manifests in Autistic individuals, how to distinguish it from typical picky eating, and how to implement individually tailored, collaborative, and sensory-informed care that prioritizes autonomy and well-being.

    This session is designed for clinicians, caregivers, and educators who want to support Autistic individuals in building a safe and positive relationship with food by following these skills and principles: normalize and validate, sensory exploration, create a supportive and predictable feeding environment, gradual exposure, multidisciplinary care, and respect for autonomy.

  • Support Group for Parents of High School Teens

    This multi-session group is designed for parents and family members of Autistic high school teens. This group is limited to 15 participants for caregivers to connect with one another and share information.

  • Support Group for LGBTQIA+ Adults

    This is an hour-long support group for Autistic LGBTQIA+ adults. It is a safe space to find community, share stories with, or gather support if needed from folks of similar experiences. This group hopes to provide support and comfort. The group is facilitated by a trans person on the spectrum. No autism (or related) diagnoses are required, nor is certainty about your queer identity. This is a space to explore all those things. It is also for all post-high school adults over 18 years old.

    This multi-session support group is designed for Autistic women (18-35). Through this support group, women (18-35) can build an ongoing connection with a small group of other women. AANE multi-session support groups for women also give women an opportunity to voice their concerns and frustrations. It also lets them acknowledge hard-won and unexpected victories. Common topics of discussion are:

    Masking/camouflaging
    Sensory sensitivities/overloads
    Relationships
    Self-care
    Empathy

    This support group is for Autistic adults (18+) who are post k-12. Through this support group, members can connect with a variety of participants.

  • Community Connection Session for Parents/Families of Children/Teens/Young Adults (through age 22)

    This event is to help parents with an Autistic child. If you’re unsure how to provide structure with kids out of school, need some self-care, or if you’re feeling isolated from other adults and the community, drop into our community support sessions to connect with other parents. Sessions will be facilitated by AANE’s Individual and Family Services staff who know firsthand the need to maintain a balance for ourselves and our children when life brings the unexpected.

  • WOMEN ON THE SPECTRUM SOCIAL SUPPORT GROUP

    Spectrum has partnered with Emory School of Nursing in starting a Women Only Group for women ages 18 and up with HFA/Asperger's, focusing on sharing challenges and successes of transition, supporting one another, and building friendships for success. This group meets twice monthly via Zoom, first and 3rd Fridays.
